For class, please read Chapters 5-8 of The Non-Designer's Web Book.
If you want to go beyond the basics, you can try these:
There are no recorded trackback links from other weblogs.
Good Site: http://www.2advanced.com/flashindex.htm
This website is a great site because the entire site is built using Flash MX. The repetition is great, the webmaster follows the same pattern and color scheme throughout the site. The alignment is also great because the have the groups of information categorized in boxes or displayed in a matter whcih can be easily read. Everything is spaced out and doesn't look cluttered so the proximity is also good. The only thing that can be improved is the contrast because the teal letters are sometimes hard to read on a maroon backround.
Bad Site: http://www.k12.hi.us/~elake/aloha.html
The contrast is really the only good thing about this site. The letters appear on dark backrounds and vice versa. The repetition on this site is awful due to the fact that many blocks of colors are used and the user who visits can get confused quite easily. The alignment is also bad because it is centered, but also aligned to left. They did not take into consideration that people will use monitors with different resolutions. The proximity of this site is horrible because the different colors are right next to each other and the blocks of text are cluttered.
