Went to Borders bookstore the other day. Decided to check out the books on blogging. There were only three books available on blogging. One of each. One of the books was "Essential Blogging."
I thumbed through it, and discovered that other than the information about blogging, it also had tips on how to set up and use blogging with Blogger, Radio Userland, and Moveable Type.
Of course, one can attempt to change the look of blog, blog configuration, archiving options by trial and error, or learn it in class. :)

The documentation that comes with MT is very good--you can access it directly from their site, or from the "Help" option after you log into your blog.
There are also a number of excellent web sites with tips and tricks for configuring various blog configurations.
In class, we'll be talking throughout the quarter about how to use CSS, Javascript, and other tools to customize your blog. We'll start with discussion of the technology (like we did today using CSS), and then will move on to how to apply it in the specific context of your blog.
