I've been trying to mess around with the style sheet. Whenever I rebuild the style sheet, nothing changes. Then I've decided to rebuild all of the pages, and then all of my entries have disappeared. What should I do? Should I just restart by setting everything back to default?
Posted by at January 11, 2003 08:05 PM | TrackBackVincent, first, whenever I change the code, I click "Save" first then click "Rebuild".
(My preference is to click the one that says, "Rebuild" link and not the button.) Well, that's the way I do it. But I think the rebuild button (next to save) will work AFTER you click "save" But I'm not sure, since I never touched that rebuild button (next to save button).
Of course, that would mean one need to keep a backup handy in case the changes in code messed things up so bad that's it's too much trouble to fix.
Back to the subject, once you click REBUILD, it will take you to a pop up box, which will give you a choice from "Rebuild all Files" to "Rebuild Category Archives only."
If things in Index file was changed, then select elect "Index Rebuild Only" and so forth. But if you make little changes that affects different files, like the Archive, the Category, and Index, then one would need to Rebuild All Files.
As for your blog, I do not see any code in styles, which means you don't have code, post, calendar, or whatever was in the style default - (I think). Did you post anything? If you did, it would go into the body section, and would be displayed on your browser. Otherwise, there won't be anything to show.
In answer to your last question, yes, I'd suggest setting setting it back to default.
IMPORTANT: If you have completely changed the style sheet, like say, all those codes with #sign and others, then there is no way for the files in index, archives, category, etc. to be displayed / come together if there is nothing in the style sheet that will tell it where to go or do.

Posted by: Liz on January 14, 2003 08:59 AMFinally, my blog is working! My WHOLE blog page didn't show up a few times, and I went to the help forum to see if anyone had the same problem. I found out that my page was not showing up because I was filling up my disk quota for RIT. So I logged on grace and deleted some files, and then my page started working again. Just letting you guys know, but thanks for all the help!
