Bloggers are not a unified community!

There is no such thing as the "average blogger" or the "average blog", any more than there is an "average book" or an "average author".

Weblogs span a variety of publication modes, from broadcast (one-to-many, non-interactive) to personal journals.

Blogs tend to be difficult to categorize, because the entry point is the person--this is why we have to categorize microcontent, rather than content streams.
