Get into the game at the Game Developers Conference
Professor Phelps and I will be attending the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco 3/7-3/11
This is THE place to meet industry folks and start making connections to find internships/coops/jobs.
Often there are recruiters here. Always there are cool people and many enjoyable events going on

Is it expensive? In a word, yes.
However, they have a volunteer program that's gets you free admission and possibly reduced hotel rates. Apply quickly, as there will be many others who will do so.
They'll let you know if you got in around then end of January

Road Trip!!!
Ok...
We'll meet out front of Golisano @ 9:00 on Wednesday, November 3rd
(I can't get there any earlier that day I'm afraid)
Road trip is, according to Mapquest, 2:45 minutes long, which gets us there about noon. We'll leave about 2:00, getting folks back for their 6:00 classes anyway. I suggest packing food for the trip :-)
David Jones, one of the original (and one of the few still working) video hackers has his workshop around the corner and we're invited to drop by before we split, so we'll likely leave the ETC 15 to 20 minutes before we drive back so we can drop in on Dave.

Where to Buy Classic TV Games
I got the Namco 5 in 1 joystick from Walmart for under $16, they have a large variety of the joystick games (sega, activision, atari, etc). Just letting you know so you could pass it on to the rest of the class; it's the lowest price I've been able to find.
